Everyone has a story.
I say it often, as a reminder to myself. What I see of my students during their 30 minutes with me is a minute piece of their lives. They all bring their own story: their family, their living arrangement, their nutrition, their health history, their experiences. I have to remember that each little person who sits at my table each day comes with baggage (good and bad) that affects what happens each day.
What is unique about my teaching? My story. It's mine and only mine. My story. My baggage. My experiences. I try to use my story to benefit my students.
